big skein of Jacob

this is the next one, yarn spinning. i span scored Jacob into bulky thick and thin yarn on a big heavy spindle.
there are the felted room shoes from the previous  post and the art yarn by pluckyfluff(=Lexi Boeger) called Candy Cane behind.

finishing spinning the yarn will be taken on a niddy-noddy to be a big skein, and it will be sunk into hot water to settle the spin.
this yarn is 2 ply and balanced well enough not to put weight on to straighten so i dried it without any. can you see an envelope hanging next to the yarn? that's basil seeds i grew on my balcony inside of it to be dried as well.
i bought first basil seeds from herbisland vegetable garden, which my favorite herb shop, and grow them every year and take seeds for the next year and seed next year. i have repeated this for several years by now. when i get my basil grow big enough, i give some to my friends and my friends eat some and also take seeds and give to their friends... this basil chain reaction is kind of spread for a while! nice, isn't it? great taste and really good basil. i love it!
there is a knotted rug woven with dyed fleece locks behind the Jacob skein. and right below there is a huge felted piece as a blanket, a single size. both are my handmade, it took a week for me to make this blanket. i will show this later.

room shoes making for 2 years

recently i am so busy for seasonal works at my main job that i cannot work on my new craft projects... so i post some of those projects i've done and taken photos to store in my lousy iPhone for while.
some of them will be sold at market, Marche and web. most of my projects are for cold seasons, so they won't be gone in summer time. i should think of some projects for summer.
now this is the first one, thick felted room shoes. i used natural colored Corriedale for the base and put some berries on them as toppings. i made a pair of room shoes 2 years ago, but they are too small for ladies so i had to modify them to something. and this is how it worked.

additional order at the previous Marche

i dispatched the additional felted soaps today. they will be transferred to the person who were selling beaded accessories at the stall and she will add straps together.
i also got a order from her that she wanted me to hunt some materials for straps. so i packed them together with soaps!
be patient! it's not gonna be so long before you get your goodies!!!

had a stall in Marche of New Leaves

i opened a stall in Marche of New Leaves as i informed before. it's hold on the approach street for Katori Shrine. i had to travel from Tokyo, which is very far from Katori, so i stayed my cousins house the night before and i went for a walk to the shrine before the Marche started. it was quite nice day just like Friday.

it was a kind of summery day to have vivid sun shine! we thank you all who came and visit our stall today!!
well, my part of the stall was a quite small corner bit which was added onto the main stall.
you can see what on the main stall, beaded accessories which one of my unit member made. these are my products recycled soaps and colorful felted soaps.
it was so relaxing circumstance that i was photosynthesizing myself at the side of turf feeling the minus ioned wind blew through woods... i forgot to take photos of whole Marche! i was even forgetting to take photos of my part of the stall until afternoon...

i greatly thank you all who visited us only from curiosity, who visited us to purchase our items, people at UNO cafe who held this Marche, and M's family who let me stay their place! i would participate the next Marche!

rapid turn

so many crafters and so called artists or creators, even and-so-ons, are applied for those popular art and craft markets, i never get place to sell my goodies. i was never picked up for the smallest stall in the markets... pissed off... when i was kind of giving up selling my goodies in markets, a lucky star dropped on my lonely studio.
UNOcafe at Katori shrine will hold a little marche on their parking lots. the new combo member is just living in their nextdoor, and of course, she will sell her items there! and i will be there at her stall to put my goodies as well!!!
but oh my! i have to pack all the goodies in a box to send her beforehands, because i have to travel there by trains for more than 2 hours.
DATE:Sat. 5 May 2010, 10:00-15:00
AT the approach street to Katori shrine
come and visit us! there will be loads of homemade sweets and crafties, vintage clothing, imported items etc...
UNOcafe, the host, will be ready to offer a special lunch dish for visitors!!!
cars can be parked on the free lots at the shrine.
